Objectified is the new documentary from Gary Hustwit, the man behind last year’s font-tastic (so so sorry), Helvetica.  This movie explores industrial design as a world that most of us never stop and consider, yet one that surrounds and continuously influences us.  As Hustwit describes it:

Objectified is a documentary about industrial design; it’s about the manufactured objects we surround ourselves with, and the people who make them. On an average day, each of us uses hundreds of objects. (Don’t believe it? Start counting: alarm clock, light switch, faucet, shampoo bottle, toothbrush, razor…) Who makes all these things, and why do they look and feel the way they do? All of these objects are “designed,” but how can good design make them, and our lives, better?

The Interwebz has been suh-low lately.  At least that’s what we’re telling ourselves.  How else could you explain our shameful lack of blogging lately?  Certainly this lull isn’t due to writer’s block or an extended vacay gone awry.  Anycrap, the shirt pictured here was enough to make us snap out of our doldrums and get back to blogging.  And I gotta tell you, it feels great.

Inspired by the Pantone Matching System, SeaVees has selected seven vintage colors from the original Pantone color guide to create a limited edition run of 1,963 pairs.  Why 1,963?  The first Pantone Matching System was released in 1963, natch.  This is the first time Pantone has allowed an outside design team to enter their archives and from the looks of it, it was worth the wait.

Opening at Crewest in L.A. on February 7, this show celebrates the Sharpie and its place as the first tool a street artist acquires in his lifelong journey to hone his craft.  Featuring original works of art make exclusively with Sharpies, the exhibition contains pices from some of the biggest names in graffiti art from around the world.

Spike Jonze has gone and given his skate company — not Ain’t It Cool or any of those other fanboy losers — the first look at the beasts from his highly, highly, highly anticipated adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s “Where The Wild Things Are.”
