Is it a fashion house? Is it a record label? Is it just an awesome source of the coolest music and clothes? Probably yes. The new preview for the upcoming Kitsune Maison 8 is verrrry promising and the first two tracks have been banging on repeat for a while now. We’re looking forward to hearing more — and honestly, it’s been too long since a band made a fun song about surfing (why should the Beach Boys and The Ramones be the only ones to get in on the waves?) Also, be sure to check out the Kitsune iTunes app at their MySpace page. Enjoy.
French Horn Rebellion – Up All Night

Horchata is the sweet, cinnamon-y rice drink that washes away the spiciest assault of carne asada and al pastor like a wave erases footprints from the sand. So how does this make it the title of the first song from Vampire Weekend’s upcoming album, Contra? I’m not sure. I just know that hearing new material from these guys is like seeing an old friend again.

It’s been too long since I’ve had the chance to make a superfluous post about the band of the year (sorry Grizzly Bear and Dirty Projectors), Phoenix. A quick check of their blog reveals a host of news including new tour dates and a new track dedicated to Marie Antoinette for download. The acoustic ditty is a far cry from anything on the highly polished Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix and honestly seems like a toss away or outtake but it’s still better than 99.9% of new music else out there.

The good folks at 3sixteen sent us their latest lookbook and as usual we couldn’t help but come away impressed. The understated and sophisticated menswear line continues to refine it’s aesthetic and the results are impossible to deny. Bravo!
