New Band Alert: Gamble House

After a few listens I’ve determined that Gamble House’s self-titled record is the best Grizzly Bear record of the year.  Just kidding … sort of.    Their music swells and strains with the same grace and sophistication as those Brooklynites, but without any of the nagging hype.  Throw in harmonies like Fleet Foxes and production like Beach House and you’ve got yourself a late entry into the album of the year conversation.  Definitely keep an eye on these guys and if you’re in L.A., be sure to check them out during their residency at the Silverlake Lounge.

The Soft Pack + ‘Answer to Yourself’

The Soft Pack (nee The Muslims) are one of those bands who don’t need explanation or a wild backstory involving convoluted genres and influences. Their music is simple and fun. End of story. Even better, their debut album is set to drop of Feb. 2. Enjoy the video and this MP3 via P4K.

Museum of Bellas Artes + Who Do You Love

Just when I needed something to help get me through the weekend along comes a great, great, great song like this one.  Although I don’t know a thing about this band, I hope there’s more where this came from.

MP3 at Gvs.B

The New Order/JAMC/M83-like remix is available here.  It’s equally jaw-dropping, trust me.
